Online Collaboration with Top 50 Ranches

Q: Sean Crafts (Mavenlink Co-Founder) – Can you tell us a little about your business?

A: Jody Dahl – Top 50 Ranches is a ranch destination travel website designed to take the guesswork and confusion out of finding dude ranch vacations or other top ranch vactions at the most breathtaking, authentic and luxurious ranch and riding destinations in the world. We have ranches all across the United States, including California, Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming, along with top ranches in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Argentina.

Q: Sean – How has Mavenlink helped your business?

A: Jody – As a small business owner, Mavenlink has directly helped me by making it easier to connect with my Top 50 Ranches team, which are primarily consultants working with me online in remote locations. We utilize Mavenlink as our platform for online collaboration in real time. I always feel completely informed and up-to-date and it's all in one easy-to-use, convenient workspace. I don't have to search through a slew of old emails. I can just easily visit our project workspace and find the exact conversation. Whether it’s information that I need for later use or if I need to refer back to my online team's expertise, it's always there at the touch of a button to quickly access. Also, I really like the fact that all payments can be made and are fully tracked through Mavenlink.

Q: Sean – Anything else you want to add?

A: Jody – Yes, Mavenlink is definitely an ideal, convenient location to manage my online projects for Top 50 Ranches. Before I jumped into Mavenlink, I didn't even realize this was an option for project management. I will definitely spread the word about Mavenlink as it is seriously worth the investment in this product. Anything that saves me time is something worth the minute financial expenditure this requires. I cannot speak highly enough about this product and recommend for other businesses to try it. Once you've tried it, you will be hooked for all your online business collaboration.

10 Things Mavenlink Users Want to Know

As we continue to expand our support channels to care for our user base that has rapidly grown to over 30,000 businesses, we have been fielding questions from all over the place. I don't just mean questions from the United States, India, and the Isle of Man, but questions such as "How do you differentiate yourselves from your competitors?" to "Are you a real person?" are asked all the time.

Here are some of the questions we get regularly, starting with arguably the most important question...

1) How is Mavenlink different from the competitors?

Mavenlink is an end to end project management solution. We are the only solution focused on providing robust project collaboration and project management features PLUS time tracking, expense tracking, invoicing, currency localization, and online payments to the small and mid-sized businesses.

Work and get paid in one place.

2) What financial features do you offer?

As mentioned above, we have time time tracking, expense tracking, and invoicing. These are all integrated with PayPal as well so you can pay and get paid all within Mavenlink. In fact, time tracking and invoicing are two of our most popular features.

3) Can I work in a currency other than US Dollars?

As mentioned above, we added currency localization. This allows you to work, track time, invoice, and get paid in every currency in the entire world. On top of that, it is fully integrated with all of the currencies that PayPal supports. What would a Project Management solution in the cloud be if you couldn't work in every currency in the world?

4) How can I make feature requests?

We have been trying to promote our Feature Requests forum (hint: click that link ) as we love hearing from our users. If you are a Mavenlink user, follow the link and submit your requests there. We are always brainstorming new ideas and ways to improve, but just like us, you are using constantly using Mavenlink so we want to hear from you.

5) How can I test Mavenlink?

Open a Test Drive Project Workspace with us. The Test Drive will automatically invite some of the Mavenlink team to help get you started and answer any questions you may have.

6) Can I respond to messages via email?

Yes. This was one of our first features when we launched, but somehow our email integration has been overlooked. Reply to any message via email from your computer or smartphone.

7) Can I view important dates and tasks within Mavenlink?

With the new Mavenlink dashboard that we rolled out last month, it is now easier than ever to view past due work, upcoming work, pending invoices, and the latest messages from your project workspaces. Also, you can filter the view for any client, contractor, or employee.

8) Do you integrate with Google Apps?

Yes, we integrate with the full Google Apps suite. Along with your business Google Apps email or Gmail account, we are fully integrated with Google Docs, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts.

In addition, the Google Apps team announced the best of the Google Apps Marketplace in 2010 and we finished #5 out of the entire marketplace. This news was so big that PC World, TechCrunch, and ReadWriteWeb all picked up the story. Click here to see the Mavenlink Google Apps listing.

9) How much does it cost to integrate Mavenlink with Google Apps?

Nothing. How do you like that price? Not only do we make it extremely easy to integrate Mavenlink and Google Apps, but all Mavenlink plans have the full Google Apps integration included.

10) Can I submit a Guest Contribution?

Of course. Just email us at info@mavenlink.com. We are always looking for Guest Contributions. Whether you want to submit an original post about today's working world or have us interview you or express how Mavenlink has helped your business, we are open to many types of contributions.

Latest Online Business Collaboration News

We have several blog posts that we figured you would all enjoy to help ease your work online.

The first is 3 Simple Tools for Juggling Business Online, which is simply three online products that we enjoy using to ease our work online.  The first is Google Apps.  We use Google Apps for project management for more than just email.  The simple document, calendar, and contacts integration that it has with Mavenlink and ability to add additional integration products through the Google Apps Marketplace really take it to the next level.

The other products are MailChimp, which we use for mass emails and email analytics, and OneLogin.  We use OneLogin for a one-shop for storing and accessing passwords.  It is also an easy way to handle passwords for outside professional service providers, freelancers, independents, and sub-contractors.

Another post is about Collaborating New School, which we already talked about on this blog.  There we talk about getting to the top with teamwork with products like HootSuite and Ping.fm, which both help with social media.

Also, last week was great because we were mentioned in both IT Business Edge and Go4 Web Apps as a web based collaboration software.  We were mentioned in The Street regarding time management and project collaboration and GetApp under their Top 20 Business Apps in September of 2010.  Hopefully, we continue to climb that list, even though they have use ranked as #1 for Project Management.  Glad to see that.  Maybe next month we will crack the Top-10.

We also have our September Slogan Contest on Wildfire and Facebook to look for something great from our users.  We love hearing from you guys so keep the great ideas coming.  The caveat with our September Slogan Campaign is that the winner wins a free iPad, which is pretty awesome!  Our winner of our July campaign, Bonnie, is loving her iPad.

So fellow mavens, what products do you use to ease your work online?  Please let us know.  We love to hear new ideas!

For even more, please check us out on Twitter or Facebook!
