MSNBC, women are more likely to juggle multiple gigs than men, with some 3.7 million adult women working more than one job. The reason? Women often aren't interested in working a traditional 40-50 hour week due to childcare needs, also, they make less dollar for dollar than men and often have similar budgets. “Many more women than at any time in our history are either the primary or sole breadwinner in their families,” said Eileen Appelbaum, a professor and co-director for the Center for Women and Work at Rutgers University.

“The persistent pay gap between men and women and the greater incidence of part-time work for women means that women are more likely to need more than one job just to make ends meet for their families,” she said.
